Painter · Pune, India
Painting is not about what you see — it is about making others feel what you felt.
Born in Pune, Prashant Kulkarni began painting as a teenager — what started as quiet rebellion in the margins of schoolbooks became a lifelong devotion to landscape, memory, and the way afternoon light dissolves into shadow.
Over four decades he has built a deeply personal visual language — layered oils and soft acrylics that breathe between abstraction and figuration, never fully choosing one world over the other.
I am not trying to capture reality — I am trying to find what reality feels like from the inside.
Primarily oil on linen and canvas, with occasional ventures into watercolour and mixed media. His process is slow and contemplative — paintings rest for weeks between sessions, absorbing the passing light of his Pune studio window.
